Audit finds big holes in ‘green’ programs
Most people probably won’t find it surprising that the federal government hasn’t bothered to track the money they give to the provinces for environmental programs. This type of thing bugs the heck out of me. It hurts the folks that are actually making a difference because money they could use could be wasted and flawed programs generally lead to a bad taste in people’s mouths. This “ripped off” can poison the well for future initatives.

Protesters are working hard to highlight the environmental problems with oil extraction from tar sands. They’ve even set up a web site (Obama2Canada.org) to highlight this issue. Not sure how effective this will be. He’ll only be here for something like seven hours.

A couple of years can make a difference. Better Place is making strides in Denmark and Israel with it’s unique “car as a cell phone” philosophy. Not much happening in Canada yet but an education centre is better than nothing.
