It sounds great on paper (fewer polluting vehicles on the road, more sales for ailing car companies) but I can’t help thinking that car companies will simply reduce their own incentives if this kicks in.

Canada Approves Patent on Cyclone Power Technologies’ Green Engine
Looks like the external combustion engine is on its way to Canada. From the release: “Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel - including bio-diesels, syngas or solar - while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air.”
